Hands-on Workshop: Working with Mason Bees

Did you know that there are over 4000 native bee species in North America? Over 300 of these species are Oregon residents, and we will be discussing how to create a bee-friendly habitat in your own backyard to support these important pollinators. There will be an emphasis on the lifecycles and nesting strategies of mason bees.

We will also be putting together tunnel-nesting bee houses and wildflower seed bombs, so you will leave with everything you need to get started working with native bees this season!

This hands-on workshop will include:

*A short lecture on bee diversity and conservation

*A walkthrough on how to create the perfect pollinator habitat

*An in-depth discussion of working with mason bees

*A guided observation of active bee nests

*A custom bee house and native flower mix
